When celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay opened his Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in Las Vegas in 2018, pundits could have never predicted it would quickly become a Strip favorite among curious tourists and local foodies, much less stay at the top of the list for best restaurants in town

After all, Las Vegas is often a rollercoaster for “hot, new” restaurants. One minute a new restaurant is being featured on Instagram, and the next moment, it’s shutting its doors for good. 

Inspired by the hit global television series of the same name, the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is a must-visit for any fan of Gordon Ramsay. But many fans have questions about the menu, dress code, and overall vibe of this unique dining experience. While most Gordon Ramsay restaurants are true fine dining experiences, having earned the celebrity chef an astonishing 16 Michelin stars over his career, this is the only one that is tied to an extremely popular television show. 

This bit of notoriety gives this upscale restaurant a stylish, but relaxed vibe and a great place to celebrate special events or a casual lunch out with friends. 

Located in front of the famous Caesars Palace, the interior of the restaurant is themed after the hit television series with floor-to-ceiling windows, red and blue design details (from the television show), two chef’s tables, a modern mixology bar, and can seat more than 300 guests at full capacity. 

Who is Chef Gordon Ramsay?

Gordon Ramsay is a world-renowned chef, restauranteur, and television personality known for his fiery personality and culinary masterpieces. He was born in Johnstone, Scotland, on November 8, 1966, and by the age of 19 had started down the road of his fine dining career. He spent his formative years training under celebrated chefs such as Marco Pierre White, Guy Savoy, and Joël Robuchon before opening his first restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, in London in 1998. 

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay was an instant success and helped him quickly expand his restaurant empire with several other successful restaurants such as Le Pressoir d’Argent and Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay, plus has endorsed a line of cookware and other various kitchen products. He is also the host of several popular television shows, including Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, and Kitchen Nightmares. Ramsay is known for his fiery temper and his no-nonsense approach to cooking.

What is the television show Hell’s Kitchen about?

Hell’s Kitchen is an American reality competition television series based on the British series of the same name, broadcast on Fox. The show features chef Gordon Ramsay as head chef at a restaurant inside a Hell’s Kitchen-themed studio. Ramsay sets up challenges and dinner services in which the chefs compete for a job as head chef at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants. Top chefs Christina Wilson (Season 10), Ariel Contreras-Fox (Season 18), and Michelle Tribble (Season 17) among all of the other winners, have all won their respective seasons and have served as head chef / executive chef at one of Ramsay’s properties before moving on to other ventures.

What are the best items on the menu at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas?

Although it might be hard for most visitors to pick just one or two menu items from its long list of amazing food, Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas does have a few fan favorites and signature dishes that patrons rave about. 

Beginning with appetizers, the pan-seared scallops with a sweet corn puree, braised bacon lardons, and pickled fennel. First time visitors to the famous Las Vegas Strip restaurant often praise the scallops which has led Chef Ramsay to note of them, “Everyone is desperate to eat those scallops!”

The Lobster Risotto is another popular appetizer that could easily serve as someone’s main course. The dish consists of butter poached lobster tail, truffled risotto, and crispy onions. 

Entrees at Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas range from Crispy Skin Salmon with beluga lentils, shaved fennel salad, and citrus herb beurre blanc sauce, to a Dry Aged New York Strip (14 oz) with shishito peppers, and a red wine demi-glace. The Filet Mignon, Braised Short Rib, and Jidori Chicken Scallopini are also tasty selections from their dinner menu. 

Without a doubt though, the Beef Wellington is the star of the show. Since its opening in 2018, the restaurant claims to have served over one million Beef Wellingtons, and it’s with good reason. The Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas Beef Wellington is served with potato puree, glazed root vegetables, and a red wine demi-glace and is the best way to spend your hard-earned money. Throughout your evening at Hell’s Kitchen, you’ll see their famous Beef Wellington pass by multiple times as hungry visitors order it time and time again. 

The dessert menu consists of a coconut sorbet, a blueberry cheesecake, and a rich chocolate fondant cake they have named “Death By Chocolate”, but the Sticky Toffee Pudding is the main attraction. Much like the Beef Wellington, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is a near-legendary dessert at Hell’s Kitchen and one that, unless travelers medically shouldn’t have it, must be indulged upon when visiting the famous Las Vegas Strip. 

The restaurant also boasts appetizing vegetarian and vegan dinner menus with loads of options for those who do not partake in meat. 

Finally, the signature prix fixe menu is three courses: a choice between the pan-seared scallops and a golden beet salad, the Beef Wellington, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding for $95.95 plus tax. Patrons can also select a wine pairing for $59.95 per person.

Where is Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas located?

Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas is located in front of the massive Caesars Palace casino at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. If arriving by taxi, the driver will often drop you off at the main doors to Caesars Palace where you’ll have a quick walk down the sidewalk to the restaurant. If taking an Uber, they will be instructed to either drop you off at the front doors or the Uber designated spot near the Colosseum event center which is nearly a 10-minute walk through the casino to the restaurant. Without a doubt, the easiest way to arrive is to be dropped off near the main entrance and make the quick two minute walk to Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant.

Some drivers (taxi and Uber) will drop you off directly in front of the building (technically the back of the building since the doors are on the opposite side that faces Caesars Palace) while on Las Vegas Boulevard. This can be dangerous on heavy traffic nights and is technically illegal for these drivers to do. Use extreme caution.

What is the dress code at Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas?

The official dress code of Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas is listed as business casual. Blouses, dress shirts or button-down shirts, slacks or khakis, longer skirts, or blazers are all perfectly acceptable for a special occasion or a nice evening out. On any given day a collared shirt, and decent pants with dress shoes are a good idea for most and won’t make you feel out of place. 

In the summertime or when visiting for lunch on warm days, Las Vegas restaurants seem to have a more relaxed definition of dress codes given that everyone knows how extremely hot it is and a blazer in high temperatures can be a sweaty affair. The only items that seem to give management any pause are swimsuits and muscle shirts. It’s best to call ahead if you have any questions about the dress code at Hell’s Kitchen Las Vegas.
